AMBASSADOR’S MESSAGE

I feel especially priviliged to have the opportunity to serve in Japan as the Ambassador of Turkey.

Friendly relations between Turkey and Japan are based on sincere and heartfelt feelings that matured and strengthened over time.

The helping hand extended by the Japanese people to the Ottoman sailors when the frigate Ertuğrul hit the rocks and sank in Kushimoto in 1890 will never be forgotten in Turkey.

We passed many similar milestones since that sad but glorious incident, and I believe that each and everytime, shared experiences brought the peoples of Turkey and Japan much closer.

Now, as we face the future with all its challenges, opportunities also lie ahead of us to be grasped for the benefit of our peoples.

It will be my staunch aim to carry forward this historic relationship. I believe that the possibilities are almost limitless and our Embassy will continue to seek new horizons.

With these thoughts, on behalf of the people of the country of the crescent and the star, I salute the people of the country of the rising sun.
